I have a strong understanding of how a vacant tract of land is developed into a Master Planned Community, and also how Special Utility Districts (similar to HCWCID 96 and HCMUD 49) operate. In addition to understanding how a community is built, I also have a good understanding of the procurement process for consultants and contractors. I have working relationships with the consultants that manage the two districts that encompass Fall Creek and believe that I can help the HOA communicate and work with the two Districts.
I am professional and very personable. My strengths include strong analytical and problem-solving skills. I can be pragmatic or think outside the box depending upon the circumstances. I am extremely organized (in my professional life ☺) and detail oriented, yet I am able to maintain sight of the overall picture and the ultimate goals to be accomplished. As an attorney, I am able to look at a situation from all perspectives and analyze the success or failure of a proposal including any unintended consequences. I have been very involved in Fall Creek and have planned and/or participated in many of the community events.
I’ve been married for 14 years to my beautiful wife who is a native of Texas, and we have 3 wonderful daughters who are ages 6, 9, and 10. We have been living in Fall Creek since 2007.
I believe Fall Creek has the potential to be the best neighborhood in Houston and it’s a privilege to serve as a board member. However, it will take more than just the efforts of 5 board members to get us there–it will take the efforts of a community of volunteers. Running a neighborhood is challenging; there is a large amount of work required behind the scenes. We need people to partner together and support the great work that is being completed to move us forward.
In 2008 Kim and I had a new home built in Fall Creek and we moved in that November. We choose Fall Creek for its location, being family oriented and the overall beauty of the development.
I have been working in the Oil & Gas industry for the past 44 years with the last 25 years at Bechtel, Oil & Gas Division here in Houston. My occupation with Bechtel is managing Control Systems engineering and design. I have a BS in Electrical Engineering and my work has taken me across the globe for engineering, design, construction and startup.
One of my assignments has been the Control Systems Global Chief. My experience in managing large teams in Houston and oversite of other offices such as London, Calgary, New Delhi and Shanghai gives me experience in dealing with diverse issues.
For the community in Fall Creek I have been involved with the issues concerning P-133, the perennial waterway that runs through Fall Creek on the west side of the development. I have engaged the County Commissioner’s Court, Harris County Flood Control District (HCFCD), Commissioner Jack Cagle, Water Control and Improvement District (WCID) 96 and Congressman Gene Green in encouraging their help to get repairs started sooner than later.
